The Luther Institute Southeast Asia (LISA)

Garuna is focused on training indigenous Church leaders, pastors, deaconesses, and lay leaders for the emerging Lutheran Churches in the region.  LISA is the ministry that is critical in serving that purpose.  The photo on the left shows the service of dedication in Bangkok (2006) when LISA was officially formed.

LISA - Lutheran Bible Teaching and Training

The Luther Institute Southeast Asia (LISA) is a ministry of The Garuna Foundation that is dedicated to helping teach God's Word in Southeast Asia. This Bible teaching and training ministry assists the Thailand Concordia Lutheran Church (TCLC), the Cambodia Lutheran Church (CLC), and other regional Lutheran partners in the training of indigenous and national pastors, deaconesses, Garuna School teachers, and lay leaders for service in their respective churches.

LISA's ministry is to help provide the curriculum and teaching necessary for its nearly 90 students.  Our students come from several ethnic groups and countries. LISA's goal is to train indigenous leaders who will, in turn, teach fellow country ministry leaders, thus significantly expanding their impact.

Your support of this training ministry for the future leaders of the churches in this very important region of the world is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping our students reach thousands of people with the Good News of Jesus!  Please keep this vital ministry in your prayers.

“I love strategy. And I am always evaluating my personal ministry from a strategic perspective. There is no more strategic region of the world to minister for Christ than where the percentage of the world’s population is greater and the percentage of Christians is less than any other region of the world. God is calling me to Asia!”
