Garuna's Three Mission Emphases
Garuna has a bias toward developing national leadership.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Garuna's ministries. Garuna has three primary mission emphases:
- A commitment to the training of indigenous (Lutheran) pastors, deaconesses, and leaders through the Luther Institute Southeast Asia (LISA) ministry;
- A commitment to help with the growth and development of indigenous Lutheran Churches; and,
- A commitment to sharing the Good News with children and their families through the Garuna Christian School system.

GCS #7 in Phnom Penh is Dedicated!
GCS #7 in Phnom Penh was dedicated on January 7, 2023! More than 160 students attend the school each day where they learn of the love of Christ. God blesses our schools with wonderful teachers who share the love of Jesus with the children and their families.
GCS #8 - Is currently under construction
Pictured is the site plan for Garuna's second school in Siem Reap Province. This is also the second GCS that Prince of Peace Lutheran Church & School in Fremont, CA has sponsored. Please keep this project in your prayers. We hope for 200 students to be able to attend and learn of Jesus daily. Thank you to our wonderful partners at POP!

The construction workers are hard at work. Plans are for the school to be open by the end of 2023.
GCS #9 - Also currently under construction!
The harvest is plentiful! Pastor Sao Em, Deaconess Ek Sameam, and a friend visit the rice field that will become the home of GCS #9--the second GCS in Prey Veng Province. Garuna is extremely happy to partner with nine congregations/schools from Omaha in this exciting ministry of bringing the Good News of Jesus to the children of these villages.
The rice field has been filled with soil and the exterior fence is going up quickly.
The first of two school buildings for the Kindergarten - 6th grade facility takes shape.
