The mission of the Garuna Foundation is to support and encourage the proclamation of the grace, mercy and compassion (garuna) of Jesus Christ to the peoples of Thailand, Cambodia and surrounding countries.

The Garuna Foundation focuses its ministry in Southeast Asia. Over 500 million people live in this region, with only 2% of the population who know Jesus as Savior.

Dear Friends in Christ,

Thank you very much for your interest in The Garuna Foundation. Garuna is blessed to be active in mission outreach in partnership with indigenous Lutheran Churches in Southeast Asia.

The reason for my personal interest in Southeast Asia is that my family and I were privileged to serve there as missionaries with the LCMS for nearly eight (8) years.

We are very thankful to see the growth of His Church in that region by God's grace (garuna) and by the power of His Word.

The Garuna Foundation was formed in August of 2001 with the express goal of helping the emerging Lutheran Churches in the region with their pastoral training, with their national Church development, and with children's ministry.
